Chapel is held Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Chapel is to be a place of Community, Celebration, Communion and Communication. Spiritual Emphasis Week and Missions Week are integral to chapel, helping us focus on Christ and on our call to serve Him throughout the world. Corporate worship is crucial to our time together as a community. Attendance at chapels is a significant part of belonging to our community. Students are encouraged to make chapel attendance a regular part of their EBC schedule. Alongside of chapel, PJ’s and Praise is held once a week in the Common Lounge. Times and dates will be available in the fall.

At Emmanuel, we believe in the development of the whole person - body (Athletics and Food Services), mind (Academics), and soul (Student Life and Spiritual Formation). Since Emmanuel began in 1940, chapel has been an integral part of life at EBC. However, lives have gotten busier and we understand that each student has various commitments throughout their year and cannot make it out to all chapels. Considering this, we have joined together with the Student Leadership Team to provide opportunities for Spiritual Development outside of this.

Chapel

Chapel is a place and time for community, communion, worship, and celebration. Chapel is held weekly on Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 in the Ward Shantz Chapel. The chapel schedule can be found on the online calendar (see above). Throughout the semester, staff, faculty, students, denominational leaders and more participate in chapel.


PJ's and Praise

Every Tuesday night at 9:45, the EBC community is welcome to join together in the relaxed atmosphere of the Common Lounge to worship. There is music, prayer, sharing, and devotions as students join in one voice to give praise to God. All are welcome to come.


Spiritual Life Committee

The Spiritual Life Committee organizes small groups each year for those who want to gather together and go deeper on a Spiritual level. For information on the current groups, talk to the Spiritual Life Coordinator on Student Leadership.


Secret Prayer Partners

Each semester, the Encouragement committee organizes Secret Prayer Partners - where individual staff and students spend the semester praying for another individual. They can leave notes of encouragement in boxes or a card on special days, and at the end of the semester, there is a gathering where the SPP's identity is revealed.
