- Seek to discern the needs of the student body and take the necessary action to see that these needs are met if at all possible.

- Be the student body representative on the Administrative Council and the Student Conduct Committee and the Academic Council. In the event the President cannot be present the Dean of Student Life will appoint someone else.
- Must be familiar with the Constitution of Student Council.
- Must make certain that each member of Student Council is familiar with the sections of the Constitution pertaining to his/her position.
- Keep informed as to the progress of each area of ministry.
- Have a definite agenda planned prior to Student Council meetings. Approve minutes of all meetings before they are published by the Administrative Officer.
- The President is responsible for keeping one complete set of minutes, and all historical material of the Student Council for the preceding three years, as well as the year of his/her office in the President’s files.
- Be organized, plan ahead, and delegate.
- Challenge, motivate, encourage, and invest into members of the Student Council Team.
- Be a leading voice toward change.
- Provide oversight of Student Council Committees and activities.
- Ex-officio member of all Student Council Committees.

- Oversee the ordering, sizing, and purchasing of Emmanuel Bible College paraphernalia (i.e., clothing, rings).

Administrative Officer - Stephanie VanSpronsen

- Record minutes for each Student Council meeting that include:
a. time and place;
b. names of all present and absent;
Then in exact order,
c. all items of business transacted;
d. results of voting on these motions; and
e. motions which fail to carry generally are not recorded.
- Must get minutes read and approved by the Student Council, and once typed minutes will be placed online. Copies should be distributed to appropriate parties, including all Student Council members, archives, EBC President, Dean of Student Life, and Student Body via public posting.
- Maintain files that include present Student Council minutes as well as the minutes of the four previous years.
- Type all Student Council business (i.e. letters, correspondence)
- Maintain a calendar of all Student Leadership Team activities to avoid any conflicts.
- Keep the Student Body informed about what is happening on campus through use of the Student Council and announcement bulletin boards. Keeping the bulletin boards up to date. Assume responsibilities for posting, and maintaining Student Council bulletin board.
- Keep a file containing all Student Council computer information and deal with any pertaining correspondence and at the end of the year complies all individual Student Council committee files into one.
- Participate on the Alumni Committee and communicate ideas and happenings back to Student Council for involvement.
- Update website calendar.

Finance Officer - Tina Moore

- A liaison between the Student Council and the College Business Department.
- Meet monthly with the EBC Business Manager to discuss all financial transactions.
- Keep current records of expenditures for each committee and various accounts in consultation with the EBC Business Manager. Month end statements will be posted on the College website and bulletin board. Records will be kept open for inspection at all times. The records will be kept for at least 7 years.
- Provide written annual financial report.
- Maintain records regarding the Student Council safe.
- Keep expenditure records (journals, receipts) complete and up to date as they are open to financial audit at any given time.
- Oversee and follow up, where necessary, all financial transactions of Student Council and its ministries.
- Work with the committee heads to ensure accurate written records are maintained for the dispersion of funds.
- Must meet with the Vending Machines Operator at least once every two weeks to go over all transactions for those two weeks.
- Prepare and present a monthly financial summary of the transactions, financial strategies, and their progress.
- Give budget updates to the College President, the Dean of Student Life, the EBC Business Manager, and members of the Student Council.
- In the last week of March, in co-operation with the Vending Machines Operator, choose and oversee the training of the new Vending Machines Operator. Understand the job description of the Vending Machines Operator and how all of the machines work and oversee all the responsibilities of the vending machine operator.
- Be responsible for collecting, rolling, and depositing into the Student Council bank account the money from sales, donations and student fees.
- Receive and disperse all monies according to the direction of the Student Council.
- Ensure that the Ontario Government gets paid the Retail Sales Tax (RST) owed for vended sales.
- Serve as signing officer for financial records.
- Serve on Student Council Executive Board.
- Be a responsible steward with respect to the Student Council office keys and the safe combination. Agree to sign a waiver with respect to the preceding.
- If necessary, recommend someone to assist in bookkeeping.
Vending Machines Operator - Could Be You!
- Be accountable to the Student Council Finance Officer for all financial information pertaining to the operation of the vending machines; meeting with the Finance Officer at least once every two weeks.
- Keep careful and accurate records of all transactions with regards to the vending machines. These records are to be submitted to the Student Council Finance Officer by the ends of the months of December and April. Student Council is responsible to remit RST on all vendible goods, thus these records need to be carefully managed.
- Purchase, transport, store, secure and replenish the merchandise as required by the pop and snack machines.
- Keep the pop and snack machines clean and in excellent working condition, including the coin mechanisms. Any problem with the vending machines must be reported to the Student Council Finance Officer
- Turn over all records and keys to the Student Council Finance Officer when the year’s contract is over.

- Develop a list of people to make up the Encouragement Committee that represents the student body.
- Encourage each member of the student body, staff and faculty at least twice per semester in some way (i.e. notes, candy, and other creative ways).
- Pray for students, staff and faculty individually and corporately with the help of the committee members.
- Organize the celebration of birthdays on a monthly basis in chapel.
- Organize events such as Encouragement Day and Encouragement chapels once per semester with the help of the committee members.

- Be accountable to Student Council Finance Officer for all funds that are raised by the committee.
- Plan, strategies and organize all events for the upcoming year.
- Oversee all Team Leaders of the Missions Task Force.
- Organize and coordinate the missions conferences and chapels held each semester in coordination with the Missions Department and Chapel Committee. Help contact speakers for these conferences and host their stay at EBC.
- Ensure a balanced local, national and international emphasis.
- Head up efforts in planning and leading an Inner City Missions Trip for the second semester’s reading week in conjunction with the College.

- Form a committee consisting of at least one person from each school team, and any other interested student. Meet with this committee on a regular basis (i.e. monthly). Chair Recreation Committee meetings.
- In cooperation with the Student Council, organize the Royal Cup soccer game during the fall semester’s orientation.
- Consider fund-raisers and/or intramural events (i.e. 3-on-3 basketball, fooze ball tournament, professional sporting trip).
- Attend registration in September and January and encourage participation of students on school teams. Sign up those individuals who are interested in playing on one of the teams.
- Ensure appropriate and timely advertising of all sporting events by announcing all games in chapel, in the school newspaper, and through posters.
