Student Council meeting, Oct 14 ‘09

Present: Melissa Doerr (President), Stephanie VanSpronsen (Administration), Tina Moore (Finance), Erica Woodford (Encouragement), Christie Heemskerk (Publications), Trevor Jacobs (Recreation), Matt Winger (Social Concerns), Robbie Oleniuk (Spiritual Life), Tim Grace

Meeting called to order: 9:05

1. Prayer and Devotional - President

2. Oct. 7 ’09 Minute approved

3. WAWA Reflection

- Next year have a meeting before WAWA to keep committee heads informed.

Great to have the guest speaker along, suggest staff and faculty next year.

Need to make commuters more aware, make sure it gets advertised in chapel, ask RA’s to announce it in floor meetings.

Next year’s SC should get started on it right away.

Encouragement suggests we contact Boston Pizza next semester to see if they need any work done in their area.

4. Communication

Be careful to use inclusive language - Both commuters and residence students should feel welcome.

Reminder to update bulletin boards.

Peer Editing - Finance will organize.

SC Event Nov. 18 - Movie Night “Princess Bride” - President will book the Chapel

Blankets, teddy bears

Hot Chocolate, Popcorn - MTF will find a popcorn popper.
