Professor Anderson's global vision is communicated with warmth and vitality. It is fitting that her 14 years of missionary service with the Christian and Missionary Alliance were in the Philippines, "where Asia wears a smile." From 1987-2001 she worked in church planting, and then administration and teaching at a Bible College that she and her colleagues set up in Cebu City. She has continuing interests in Cebuano culture, issues of cross-cultural adaptation, and enjoys being a mentor to students. She also credits her time in the Philippines for making her an avid basketball fan and a competitive Scrabble player.
Currently the Director of Leadership Development and Resources for YFC Canada, Dr. Andrews has also held the positions of national training director for YFC, a regional director for YFC, a Campus Life Staff person, a Youth Centre Director, and a church youth director. His professional interests include youth ministry, youth and adult culture, leadership, preaching, and evangelism. When not working, he enjoys soccer, cycling, and other sports, travel, movies, reading, and spending time with his family. Dr. Andrews is married, and has 2 sons.
Carol enjoys both administration and education. She has taught ESL, EFL, and English writing and grammar in many situations. Her passion is for excellence, clarity, and accuracy. She has one husband, two cats, and four adult children. In her spare time, she makes pottery, knits, and reads, but not all at the same time.
Dr. Mark Boughan is the 8th President of Emmanuel Bible College and has an extensive background in ministry and higher education. For the past 17 years, he has served at Bible colleges in both eastern and western Canada in positions as Academic Dean, V.P. of Enrollment, and Dean of Student Life. Prior to that were pastorates in Ontario and Nova Scotia , and also providing leadership to other para-church organizations such as Youth for Christ, inner-city missions, and social work.
Self described as "a practitioner with an academic bent", his passion is to see how learning and study play out in real life and to communicate in ways relevant to whatever audience he meets. His research and teaching interests are as wide-ranging as his background and so, while he has recently been advising churches and pastors on change and conflict, he also has a background in theology, education, counselling and ethics.
Chureb joined us in 1987, ten years after she graduated from EBC. She brings a heart-felt concern for students as well as a capacity for detailed work to her administrative position. She is an accomplished writer, and has had many articles published, as well as a missionary biography of an EBC graduate who died while serving in Nigeria. Chureb attends the New Dundee Baptist church, where her husband Paul is the pastor. They have one grown son in medical school, one amazing daughter-in-law, and now one delightful grandson!
Charlie has served as a TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) missionary in Chad for many years before returning to Canada to serve as a TEAM missiologist and mobilizer in Eastern Canada. He has been active in teaching theological students, and has a passion to help raise up a harvest of new workers for the mission fields of the world.
Before coming to work at Emmanuel, Tara was working with the urban poor in Toronto. Most recently Tara worked for Project 417, which aims to build safe communities fighting to protect those in need, and helping them by connecting resources with the people who need them. Tara also worked as the Toronto City Director for CSM, which provides effective urban ministry experiences that transforms lives, influences churches and communities, and honours Christ. Tara’s passion is to equip and empower Christians to serve Jesus through practical ministry experience. She is married to Chris, another Emmanuel grad, and they have three young children.
Dr. Peters is an enthusiastic, well-loved professor of Bible. He has served as a Pastor and Teacher since 1984, 10 of those years in Nigeria. He is involved in intentional interim pastoral ministry, and has been involved in several church plants as well. Dr. Peters and his wife Tracy have 4 children. Where he finds spare time we do not know, but in it he enjoys jogging, reading, singing, soccer, and sports chaplaincy.
Dr. Roy worked as an urban planner in the UK before coming to Canada in the mid-1980's. After theological training he served in various academic administrative positions at Ontario Theological Seminary and Ontario Bible College (now Tyndale). Dr. Roy has also worked on church and mission boards. He enjoys soccer, reading, architecture, missions, and preaching. Dr. Roy and his wife, Lyn, have two children. He is currently the Chair of the SIM International Board of Governors and Chair of SIM Canada.
Professor Schuit, formerly a High School Principal and pastor, now speaks in various churches, teaches, and runs a book distribution company along with his wife, Jennifer. They have three grown children.
Before coming to Emmanuel, Aaron worked in a number of clinical counselling areas, including mental health, domestic violence, abuse recovery, and general relationship and support counselling. Aaron is a certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist and has received specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Sex Therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy. He has a passion for coming alongside those who are hurting, particularly those who are hurting relationally. When he's not at Emmanuel, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife, music, reading, writing, running, and all things baseball.

Prior to her arrival at EBC in 2008, Jennifer was employed as both a children’s and reference librarian in the public library system. She has served on a variety of task forces and committees related to literacy and lifelong learning. Jennifer brings an enthusiasm for helping students develop research skills, and has become a familiar face in the EBC classrooms, creating awareness among students of the ease, availability and accessibility of library resources. When not in the library, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and of course, curling up with a good book.
Anita has been a part time instructor of Intro to Financial Accounting and Simply Accounting at Conestoga College. She lives in Waterloo with her husband Duane and their two children Ty and Eden. Anita and Duane are actively involved in their church, WMB in marriage ministry and music ministry.
Anna has been actively involved in many areas of youth ministry over the past five years, four of those spent working with Youth for Christ. She has a passion to see Emmanuel grow over the next number of years. In her spare time Anna enjoys reading, cooking and baking, and most of all spending time with friends and family. Anna and her fellow alumni husband Jason reside in Milton.
Sherry worked at Fleming College for 10 years in various departments including, Admissions, Continuing Education, Student & Health Services and the Learning Resource Centre before beginning full-time ministry as Administrator at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church in Lindsay. Sherry enjoys reading, travel and times with family and friends.
Helen is our warm and friendly receptionist, who moved here from El Salvador. She maintains a positive outlook even on the busiest days, and is always glad to help a student or staff member with a request. She has two children, and enjoys walking and reading.
Nicole has a passion for Emmanuel and enjoys merging her business and ministry skills to oversee all of the marketing and communications, social media and advancement events for Emmanuel. When she's not in meetings, writing or working online, she's with her husband and their two young daughters. She can also be found most Sunday mornings leading Large Group in Promiseland at her home church in Cambridge.
Mark comes to Emmanuel after 19 years in full-time ministry as a Pastor for the Brethren in Christ Church, serving in congregations in Ontario and Pennsylvania. Mark has a deep passion for worship and teaching, and loves to help individuals discover and develop their God-given passions and strengths for ministry. Mark is married to another EBC grad, Ruth Anne (Grieve) Thornton, and has two fantastic children. In his free time, Mark enjoys music, reading, movies and playing golf.
Ruth Anne has enjoyed pastoral ministry with her husband, Mark, for over 21-years, as well as over 12-years as a Church Administrative Assistant. She is passionate about singing/song writing and in her spare time enjoys scrapbooking, reading, knitting, cross stitch and especially spending time with her husband and 2 teenagers!
Mark has a diverse background when it comes to Student Services. He has worked in a variety of areas both as a student and a professional. As a student he served as both a Resident Assistant and served on Student Cabinet. Over the past 14 years he has served in several Christian higher education institutions and has continued his journey by helping students through mentoring, counselling, through his passion for coaching, career counselling, as a Residence Director and Dean of Student Services. Mark's passion is to mentor students to become the leaders God has called them to be and help them on their journey. Mark and his wife, Loretta, have a dog and a cat . Mark's interests are diverse from building fences & decks, home improvements, hockey, running, reading and coaching.

Dr. Edward Ho is Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at New York Theological Education Center/Chinese Online School of Theology in Toronto/New York/Hong Kong. Ed has taught Old Testament courses in Canada, Panama, and Sri Lanka. He is a frequent presenter at national and regional academic conferences, and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and Bible dictionaries. Ed has been a Christian and Missionary Alliance pastor for over ten years; his teaching is often the fruit of the fusion of scholarly research and pastoral experience.

Dr. Dow has been affiliated with EBC since 1957 when he first came as a 17-year old student. His heart for EBC shines through in conversation with him. He served as pastor to four Evangelical Missionary Church congregations (3 as church plants), for a total of 17 years. He also taught as a faculty member at the United Missionary Theological College in Ilorin, Nigeria. He joined the EBC staff as a full-time instructor in 1965, and served as Academic Dean from 1981-1988, at which time he became President of the College. He has also held the positions of Dean of Men and Dean of Student Life. He stepped down from the Presidency in 2001 and returned as Interim President from 2009-2012. Dr. Dow is well-loved by his students, past and present.
Gary has been on the Emmanuel board since 2007. He is President & CEO of Future Edge Technologies Inc. Gary also serves on the Governance and Technology Advisory Committees. Gary is a representative of the United Brethren Church in Canada.
Phil has been on the Emmanuel board since 1990. He is the President of the Evangelical Church of Canada, as well as former Interim President of Emmanuel Bible College and former faculty member. Phil also serves on the Executive Committee of the Board.
