BRE – Counselling Studies

This program is designed to prepare students for further studies in psychotherapy, pastoral counselling, or other related pursuits at graduate school, seminary, or other education and training programs. Additionally, this program is designed to train students in people-helping skills as a basis for employment and ministry in a variety of clinical and church-related (i.e. pastoral or lay ministry) counselling and Christian ministry settings.

Note: This program alone is not designed to provide certification as a Registered Psychotherapist in the Province of Ontario as such certification requires the successful completion of a post undergraduate training program. In addition to learning fundamental counselling theory and skills, students will also develop a strong foundation in biblical and theological reflection on ministry in a wide variety of contexts.
