Website Blue Mountain Community Church

At the base of the Niagara Escarpment and the mouth of the Beaver River, you’ll find the charming villages of Thornbury and Clarksburg.  The area is home to many lovely shops, restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and an excellent public library. There are two hospitals nearby.

The Beaver Valley Community Centre in Thornbury offers hockey and curling along with many local events.  The Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg is home to local theatre, musical events and more.

The overall area is known as the Town of the Blue Mountains and encompasses Collingwood, Thornbury, Clarksburg and Meaford. Numerous full-time and part-time job opportunities abound.

It’s a true four-seasons destination.  Residents and visitors enjoy numerous waterfront parks, beaches, nature trails, tennis courts, farmers’ markets and swimming during the warmer months. Winter brings snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and downhill skiing

There are excellent schools in the area including a preschool, Beaver Valley Community School (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8) and Georgian Bay Secondary School, a brand new high school in nearby Meaford.
