Emmanuel Bible College is accepting applications for the position of Interim Acting Library Director.

The Interim Acting Library Director serves under the direction of the Academic Dean and provides supervision to the Library Manager along with collaboration and shared supervision of Library Services.

Education, Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Undergraduate degree and M.L.I.S. (or equivalent) from a recognized university. A degree in theology, biblical studies, or an area of the humanities is preferred.
Experience: minimum five years in a library management position preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with detailed information.
Good self-organization, detail orientation, and self-motivation.
Computer literate in MS Office, (including Word, Excel, Teams), and use of the internet: research literacy, online databases, etc.
Familiarity with Library cataloguing software, Populi, Zoom, are considered assets.

Main Duties

Supervising and preparing all library administrative and operations manuals in
collaboration with the Library Manager.
Preparing analyses, projections, and goals.
Preparing annual reports and other statistical reports as necessary.
Ensuring the library meets its conditions for accreditation status as set out by the Association of Biblical Higher Education.
Chairing the Academic Library Committee.
Evaluating the collection periodically through analysis and appraisal of the library collections, recommending changes and improvements where necessary.
Developing special collections as necessary.
Screening and ensuring the processing of donations.
Assisting in selection and ensuring the development of a balanced collection.

Start Date: Flexible

End Date: May 31, 2022 (with the possibility for renewal)

Part-time / Hourly / 8-10 hours per week
