Plans for Fall 2020

June 1, 2020

Greetings from Emmanuel Bible College. We hope that you are doing well and are able to take advantage of the beautiful weather. I imagine you and your family might be using the nice weather to get out and shake off some of that cabin fever, just like I have. That includes feeling eager to get back to campus, back to our ordinary lives.

I’m writing today to update everyone in the Emmanuel Community about next steps in our planning for return to work and for the fall semester. We understand that everyone is eager to have as much clarity as possible about what comes next.

I want to commend the efforts of our staff, faculty and students in finishing the Winter semester well and being flexible as we transitioned to live online courses.

As we look toward Fall our Leadership Team, staff and faculty have been working collaboratively to find the best mode of education for Fall 2020 in light of COVID-19. As the College develops its plans, we are committed to the health and safety of our entire community. In light of this I am announcing that Fall 2020 classes will be online. We know that the situation with COVID-19 is fluid therefore our hope is that, before the Fall semester concludes, we would see some small in-person gatherings where smaller classes would be able to meet in a socially distanced manner. Again, we always need to keep in mind that the situation is fluid.

We will keep you up-to-date as more details become available.  Please note that you will be receiving a separate communication about how you can be properly equipped for online courses this Fall.

We understand that a huge part of being at Emmanuel is the community and our desire is to continue to provide that, though it may look different based on what is permitted by the Ontario Government as we move forward toward September.

We want to assure our community that every effort is being made to provide the best education possible while taking into account the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Our hope is that the campus will be open in some capacity in September.

Our Student Services department is working on a plan in regard to what Residence will look like in the Fall. Services such as advising, counselling and library support will be provided online beginning in September and hopefully face-to-face later in the semester.

We would encourage our students and larger Emmanuel Community to continue to monitor the college website for additional details and updates about the campus, specific programs and classes.

Information will also be posted on the dashboard of the Populi learning management system.

If you have any questions about this communication please direct them to info@emmanuelbiblecollege.ca  and we would be happy to respond to your concerns.
