Acadeum Online Course Offerings

• Acadeum Course Share transfer courses have been approved by EBC to match or supplement our courses.
• Students must sign up for an Acadeum account using their EBC student email. Once this email address is verified, they can view the available courses and request to register for a course.
• Most courses taken through Acadeum will transfer a letter grade back to EBC instead of just the credits. Courses taken through Acadeum are applied to the student’s EBC transcript and GPA.
• Acadeum courses can count towards part-time or full-time status, as well as eligibility for OSAP and financial aid.

• The Academic Dean and Registrar’s Office review and select courses from the Acadeum College Consortium to make available to students. In selecting courses, they review course syllabi and faculty credentials, and may assess learning outcomes data.
• Program Managers and Emmanuel faculty may also be consulted in the approval process.

• After browsing the Acadeum online course catalogue, you may request a course directly through Acadeum’s student portal for Emmanuel (requires login credentials); or
• You may request a course through the Registrar’s Office.

• Though all courses are approved, please note that all registrations are still dependent upon EBC approval on a student-by-student basis.
• The Registrar’s Office will review the student’s course request through the Acadeum platform. The Registrar will consider the student’s eligibility for the course, including their need of the course, how the course will fit with their program, whether the student is on a financial hold, and whether any prerequisites are needed.
• Once the Registrar’s Office conducts the review, the course request will be approved or denied. The Registrar may also request more information from the student.
• Once approved for a course, students will receive assistance from the Teaching Institution and the Acadeum support team regarding log in and password information, access to the Teaching Institution’s learning management system, and beginning the course.

• The student will pay the current EBC tuition rate for the Acadeum course.
• Students will be invoiced by EBC for the Acadeum course(s), and students pay EBC directly as part of their tuition fees. Emmanuel will then pay the Teaching Institution.
• Many institutions require full payment before a student can start an Acadeum course.
• In most cases, fees for Acadeum courses are non-refundable after the first day or week of class (see Add & Drop Date information below).
• All EBC pricing, billing, procedures and deadlines for the semester in which the Acadeum courses take place will apply.
• Any questions regarding costs or billing can be directed to the EBC Finance Office and/or the Registrar’s Office, not the Teaching Institution.
• Students are responsible for all learning material costs, including textbooks and online resources, as determined by the Teaching Institution.

• Many Acadeum courses follow a different timeframe than EBC’s semesters. Some courses are offered in compressed timeframes (ie. 4-8 weeks, rather than 14 weeks), so students must pay close attention to the course start and end dates when selecting a course.
• The Add and Drop Dates are set by the Teaching Institution, not by EBC. Students should review the course information pages and syllabus closely for assigned dates.
• Note – recognizing that many institutions offering Acadeum courses set Drop Dates that are within the first week or two of the start date, students who drop Acadeum courses after those dates will likely receive a failing grade for that course.
