The Worship Director is to provide strong musical and spiritual leadership for worship teams and the congregation. They will plan and implement biblical, creative and engaging worship experiences aligned with our church values as well as develop and nurture musical gifts.

Responsibilities The Worship Director will:
Coordination and Planning of Worship Services
• Develop a meaningful and vulnerable worship environment and continuously strive to include new concepts and ideas into services where applicable
• Thoughtfully create, plan and lead worship services (including annual Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving services) in collaboration with worship teams, pastors, AV team, website team, visual arts team, and others
• Create schedules for all volunteers involved in worship services (music teams, AV team, scripture readers, prayer people, guest speakers, etc.)
• Prepare and input media presentations weekly (ie. create pre-service announcement slides, create EasyWorship schedule)
• Be proficient in (or willing to learn) TriCaster, EasyWorship, ProPresenter and the current sound system
• Support worship teams in implementing seamless flow within services, including transitions, introductions, scripture, prayer, etc.
• Connect with all team members prior to the service to go over last-minute details (ie. address changes, ensure platform set up is correct, sound check is complete, etc.)
Leadership/ Musical Development
• Identify the needs for worship services (ie. vocalists, musicians, sound technicians, etc.) and actively seek volunteers to fill those needs
• Provide mentorship to new worship leaders to enable independent worship leading and encourage musical and spiritual development
• Continuously recruit, teach and train new talent to be involved in worship
• Organize and coordinate quarterly meetings with all worship volunteers
• Organize and oversee monthly worship nights/ ‘jam sessions’ to allow for new worship members to receive tutoring and mentorship
Worship Support
• Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of all church instruments
• Maintain all music materials (ie. iPads, cords, AirTurns, etc.), repair/replace where needed and maintain copyright procedures
• Prepare and submit annual budget requests
Other
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Attend Ministry Board meetings quarterly to provide updates and receive support
• Update and develop social media content alongside web team and office administrator
• Submit reports regularly to Elders Board, Ministry Board, Council when required
Accountability The Worship Director is directly accountable to the Lead Pastor and Ministry Board and works closely with other ministry staff.
Hours
This is a full-time position with generally flexible hours. Must be available Sunday mornings as well as some evenings.
Education/Experience
• Preferred education of a Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a music coordinator/worship pastor with experience in teaching and equipping others
