Update on COVID-19: March 20, 2020

We are providing a further update relating to Emmanuel’s response to the COVID-19 situation.

This has been a very fluid situation, with significant announcements this week from various levels of government as well as public-health authorities. Given the strong recommendations to allow people to work from home and to maintain appropriate social distancing, we have decided to close the campus at the end of business on Friday, March 20, for the next three weeks. Staff will work from home, and we will resume normal operations on Monday, April 13, unless otherwise noted. Administrative staff will be checking for mail and ensuring all responsibilities are met. Classes continue to be offered online until the end of the semester.

Students living in residence are being advised to return home if they can. For those who are unable to leave, we will provide meals to be eaten in the residence.

The Library will be closed as well during this period. Staff are responding to specific questions and requests regarding students’ Library-research needs.

Counselling is available to students by phone or video conferencing through an appointment with College counsellors.

We are asking our community of faculty, staff, and students to be in prayer for one another and to maintain as much contact with each other as possible as they practise social distancing, taking time to reach out and offer encouragement.

Thank you for your cooperation, flexibility, and support in these days of rapid change.

Grace & peace,

Dr. Stephen Roy
President & Dean
