Consider a career as a Certified Addiction Counsellor!

Our Professional Studies Certificate in Addictions Counselling provides the training you need to pursue certification through the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF). Emmanuel Bible College is currently the only Christian institution to offer a program certified by the CACCF.

The program includes seven week-long modules that can be completed over a period of 18 months. Each module is structured as a standalone topic, so new students can jump in at any time! The certificate is granted upon completion of all seven modules and the clinical hours.

New this year is the ability to take the program entirely online! Students at a distance can now have a fully interactive classroom experience. Through our video conferencing software, they can ask questions, contribute to discussions and take part in classroom activities like any other student.

The program has been a resounding success so far and has a 100% employment rate. Every single one of our graduates has secured full-time employment in the field.

Evan Dunne is one of our recent graduates. He currently works for Stonehenge Therapeutic Community in Guelph, assisting individuals who struggle with substance abuse. He feels that the courses equipped him with tools he can use to help people and gave him valuable insight into human behaviour.

“I wanted to help people stuck in addiction,” says Evan. “What I enjoy most about my work is the fact that I can go to bed at night knowing that I was able to help someone emotionally or spiritually.”

Our addictions counselling program is not only for those wanting to work in the field. The knowledge gained can be useful to anyone working in a profession where they encounter people struggling with addictive behaviours. For this reason, we offer the Emmanuel Addictions Counselling Certificate. Students receive the same training as those enrolled in the Professional Studies Certificate but do complete the clinical hours.

“I would highly recommend the program,” says Evan. “It’s both challenging and informative. The program is helpful for anyone in the counselling field, and for people working in other fields as well.”
